I Wanna Go Ouuut!

Speaking of my Polar Vortex Office PCoCo--The Sean Connery of Caninesurge 2014 from the previous post…

But wait!  There’s more!

Bolstered by my success in unearthing photos of my father’s WWII escapades with his BFF Casey mentioned in my previous post, I now muster the courage to tackle the daunting Shea Family Archives.

Yet another fragile yellowed reward for my efforts emerges:   my mother Geraldine’s 1946 high school graduation photo!   Looking into her bright blue eyes I marvel at the beautiful teen so radiating hope for the future.  Suffice to say that by the time I came along the fourth of four children though her radiance may have dimmed her hope for each of us never did.

In fact those high hopes extended down to our beloved family mutt CoCo.  I vividly recall her tirelessly coaxing CoCo to unleash one of those incredible vocalizations we now witness routinely on YouTube.

I Wanna Go Out!  I Wanna Go Ouuut!  I Wanna Go OOOOuuuuuttttttttttttttttt!!!

To which Shea Family legend has it, after endless hours of this my sister Marilyn turned to my other sister Kathleen and asked “well do you think we should let Mom out?”

But seriously folks…

I believe that Our Awesome Lord has that same kind of wild wacky eternal optimism for each of us also, especially when it comes to evangelism.  Just look at John 15:16-17:

“You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.”

How incredible is that?  In this passage Jesus is sharing The Last Supper with his disciples before his crucifixion and preparing them not only for what was about to happen, but to remind them why He came in the first place: so that they bear fruit, and that their fruit would remain.

Of any fruit we could possibly bear, I simply cannot think of one more lasting than evangelism.  Unlike the fading images of our earthly existence, this fruit for His Glory never withers but remains.  Forever.

So with that everlasting perspective in mind, whatever shall we ask of our Heavenly Father?

I Wanna Go Out, Lord!  I Wanna Go Ouuuut!  Please Let Me Go OOOOuuuuttttttttt For Your Glory!

In His Accessible Grace,

Linda
